Victoria Shawgo

Victoria Shawgo

Academy Director · Language Arts & Musical Theater

Victoria Shawgo is a local music educator who has more than 14 years of experience teaching voice, piano, choir and elementary music. A graduate of Union University, where she received her Bachelor's in Music Education, Shawgo has always had a passion for the performing arts. She began singing competitively at the young age of 5, and spent her middle and high school years performing on stage in various musicals, as well as competing in both solo and ensemble competitions in voice, piano, and french horn. While attending Union, she was a member of Proclamation, the university's premiere choir, as well as University Singers and Choral Union. Following her time at Union, Victoria married Greg Shawgo and the two moved to Montana where they spent 7 years ministering to youth and college students, as well as planting a church through the North American Mission Board. 16 years, and 4 amazing children later, they now reside in Plant City and run a small business in Lakeland called "The Flo-Go Shop". Aside from the performing arts, Shawgo also has a heart for women's ministry and youth. She also loves to write and has several years of experience teaching grammar and writing to upper elementary students. On the rare occasions when she isn't working at the shop, teaching her children, offering music lessons, or serving at church, Shawgo loves curling up with a good book, a hot cup of tea, and some kind of chocolate. She and her family enjoy road trips, pool days, beach excursions, movie nights and legos. She looks forward to serving the students at Haven Hybrid Academy and having the opportunity to teach them to use their gifts to the glory of God.
